At MOTEL, we believe that your wedding should be a true reflection of your vision. That's why we offer both Venue Only services and customisable Wedding Planning services to suit your needs. Our flexible approach allows you to hold your ceremony in one of our beautiful rooms (we are fully licensed for weddings and civil partnerships) and leave the catering, refreshments, and furnishing design to us. Alternatively, you can choose how and when you'd like us to step in and help.
Our award-winning catering, bespoke cocktails and bar services, lavish reception themes, fantastic DJs, and live performers are all at your disposal to create your perfect day. We're here to work with your preferred service providers, or simply as your Shoreditch wedding venue. With seated dining for up to 154 guests in Studio 1 and an intimate environment for your ceremony in Studio 2, MOTEL is the ideal setting for your unique urban wedding.

MOTEL has grown since its inception in 2010 as a single space photographic studio to become one of East London's most sought-after event venues, licensed to hold wedding and civil partnership ceremonies. Our two stunning studios, Studio 1 and Studio 2, offer ample space, disabled access, drive-in access, and a range of features to ensure your Shoreditch wedding venue experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
History
MOTEL started life in 2010 as a single space photographic studio for prolific commercial photographer, John Wright. The unique mid century/Victorian urban design aesthetic of the space catapulted it into becoming a key destination studio for discerning shoot clients including Louis Vuitton, Dior, GQ and others. Soon after MOTEL began hosting an array of events, parties and weddings as it’s reputation as a friendly, flexible events venue spread.
In 2017 two new spaces were added and the venue grew to offer 3 spaces with a more event focused approach to design, access and layout. Since then our list of event and wedding clients has grown enormously. In 2021 we became one of the few East London event venues to be licensed to hold wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.

Studio 1
This Shoreditch wedding venue has 2300 Sq Foot of space that can welcome 154 seated guests for dining or to witness your marriage ceremony. With a large cinematic projection wall your speeches and lunch can be complimented by a backdrop of wonderful visuals. With a generous kitchen space, Studio 1 has provided boutique vegan delights, traditional lunches, and rosette dining to discerning guests on numerous occasions. With disabled access and drive in access Studio 1 is perfectly positioned for generous load in of furniture or themed props.

Craft Your Perfect Day at MOTEL
Our versatile and interconnected spaces at MOTEL empower you to create a truly personalised wedding experience. Design your day by holding your ceremony in Studio 1, then invite your guests to enjoy a pre-lunch aperitif in Studio 2 before returning to Studio 1, now transformed into an elegant dining hall. Once the meal and speeches have concluded, bask in the boutique lounge ambiance of Studio 2 or dance the night away in Studio 1.
The choice is yours – our flexible spaces can be used individually or combined in various ways to bring your unique vision to life. At MOTEL, we're dedicated to helping you curate the perfect Shoreditch wedding experience that reflects your personality and style.
Studio 2
This Shoreditch wedding venue with 1800 Sq Foot of open space plus a small hidden server, is perfect for a break-out or lounge space to compliment Studio 1 to which it has corridor access, or used in its own right it will accommodate up to 180 standing guests or 90 for seated dining. Like Studio 1, Studio 2 benefits from disabled access and drive in access so is perfectly positioned for generous load in of furniture or themed props.
