MOTEL EVENTS FAQs

+ Is MOTEL a Dry Hire or Wet Hire Venue?

MOTEL can be booked as dry hire, 'venue only' space or we can provide a full production service including themed decoration, catering, drinks and refreshments, DJ, performers etc.

+ What is included in the Dry Hire price at motel?

DRY HIRE is just that. Our beautiful spaces, just as you found them and loved them during your site visit. All the furniture and fittings are made available...unless we feel there may be a safety or damage issue, in which case, we reserve the right to make our furniture and fittings unavailable. The space comes with access to our 300mb wifi/internet network. This can be branded to your spec if required.

+ Are there any additional charges I should be aware of under Dry Hire?

Your event will have to be covered by Public Liability Insurance. If you are not in possession of this Insurance we may be able to retail cover via our Insurance Company. Price will be dependent on the nature of your event.

If we do not provide your bar service we charge corkage of £15+VAT per head.

We provide SIA licenced security for you at a charge of £25 per hour per security guard. The number of security guards required is dependent on the nature of your event and the number charges are dependent on how many security guards will be required for your event.

Rubbish collection and cleaning: Our spaces should be returned to their natural state/condition on completion of your event and all rubbish and waste needs to be removed from our location and immediate surroundings. We are happy to undertake cleaning and waste disposal on your behalf at a charge of £300 + VAT (Up to one 1100 litre Bin)

A £1500 security Deposit is required to cover us in the event of any damage to our spaces, facilities, furniture, fittings and equipment and also to cover any additional waste disposal at £100 + VAT per 1100l litre bin. Your deposit will be refunded within 48 business hours after the completion of your event and removal of all materials.

Storage: We reserve the right to charge for the storing of any equipment or furniture left behind after your event.

+ Do you have any floorplans available?

Yes. You can download our floorplans.

+ What time do I have access?

Access times vary depending on the nature of your event. In general our standard morning access is from 9am and for evening events, guests should have departed the venue by Midnight.

+ Can I visit the space?

Yes, of course. Please book a site visit.

+ Do you have a late license?

No, we don't have any kind of late license associated with the venue although events that are planned to finish after 11pm can be delivered via a TENs License.

+ Can I bring my own alcohol to provide free of charge to my guests?

Yes, you can however we do charge a per head 'corkage' price for this.

+ Can I run a retail bar and sell alcohol through MOTEL?

Yes, you can. A Temporary Event Notice will have to be applied for with Hackney Council. This require 5 weeks notice.

+ Can I run MY OWN retail bar and sell alcohol?

We will require proof that you are licensed to sell alcohol to the public and a personal license holder MUST be present and overseeing the bar throughout your event. We will charge a corkage fee of £15 per head

+ Can I bring my own catering?

You are welcome to use your own caterers. Otherwise we can put you in touch with our regular caterers who will be happy to assist.
